Hey, I’m Jakob! I grew up in Norway and spent many years in sunny Arizona. I love making things, and I think development is a great way to do exactly that.
I've always been technically curious and creatively minded, but I can't draw and my guitar picking skills leave a lot to be desired. So I found myself drawn to web development and software engineering. A field where you can create an interactive version of what's in your head, with extreme precision.
When I'm not at my computer, you'll find me experimenting with digital art, watching movies, playing games (which sometimes is also at my computer), exploring the wilderness or cityscapes in my surroundings, or hanging out with my beautiful fiancée and almost as beautiful friends.
Please continue to explore my website to learn more about me, and if you can't find the answer feel free to reach out.
I build websites and develop business solutions for our wonderful clients at IDX.
We use many different technologies to meet our clients' requirements. I've specialized in PHP, WordPress, eCommerce Platforms, Cloud Hosting, and JS frameworks and libraries on the front-end.
My time at IDW was spent developing creatively designed, bespoke websites for clients in the dental field. Primary technologies used were PHP along with WordPress, JavaScript and many different front-end libraries.
This was a full-stack position where I was responsible for building and managing new and existing websites from soup to nuts.
A 12-month conscription service with the Norwegian Army. My primary objective in my platoon was assisting the technical engineers setting up field operating bases for high-ranking officers. I learned a lot about local networking and security, as well as other good habits and skills that come with military service.
I very much enjoyed my time in the military, going and meeting people from all over Norway.
Minor in Business Administration.
I spent a lot of my time at the U of A exploring different majors, trying to figure out what I liked, from Computer Science to Economics and eventually Information Science and Technology (ISTA).
The ISTA major shares many classes with computer science, but mixes in a bigger variety of subjects. I got to take classes covering philosophy of intellectual property in the digital age, statistics, data visualization, even graduate level classes in Game Development and Human Computer Interaction.
I loved my time in Tucson, and all the interesting friends and teachers I had there.
